BNP calls AL govt role model of annihilating life

Friday, 8 August 2014

BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Friday said the Awami League government has become the role model of annihilating life by resorting to enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings.
“This government could not give people anything except dead bodies. It’s also become a role model of taking life by carrying out extrajudicial killings and forced disappearances through its different forces and Jubo League and Chhatra League cadres,” he said.
Rizvi came up with the allegation at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office, according to a news agency.
The BNP leader claimed that the Detective Branch (DB) of Police demanded huge money from Swechchhasebak Dal Rampura ward general secretary Rajib Hossain after detaining him a few days back.
Later, the law enforcers killed him in Hatirjheel area in the name of gunfight early Thursday as he refused to pay them money, he further claimed.
In another incident, Rizvi said, the ruling party cadres hacked to death Swechchhasebak Dal Baligaon union leader Mostafa Monir in Feni Tuesday.
