BNP collects Tk 125m in donation for flood victims

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) collected cash worth around Tk 25 million and relief materials amounting Tk 100 million over the last five days to distribute among the flood-affected people.
BNP standing committee member and convener of the party's Relief Collection Committee Prof A Z M Zahid Hossain disclosed the information to the media at a press briefing at the party's Naya Paltan headquarters on Friday.
Earlier, BNP has formed an eight-member committee for collecting and distributing cash and relief materials to the flood-affected people.
"BNP leaders, activists, and people of the country responded positively to the party's call for donating cash and materials for the flood-affected people", he said.
"BNP leaders and activists of different districts have also been distributing relief materials among the flood-hit people," he added.
He said that diseases started spreading in the flood-hit districts following the receding of flood-water.
