BNP defers half-day hartal in Rangpur to Apr 16

RANGPUR: Local BNP Tuesday night deferred Wednesday’s half-day hartal in the district to April 16.
District BNP convener Mazaffar Hossain made the deferment announcement at the party’s Grand Hotel crossing office in the city around 7:30pm.
Earlier Monday, the local unit of BNP called the shutdown in the district for Wednesday demanding the release of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal president Habib–un-Nabi Khan Sohel and others and withdrawal of ‘false’ cases filed against them, according to a news agency.
