BNP demands investigation into charges against Minister Khandker Mosharraf

The BNP has demanded an investigation into the accusations of forcibly occupying lands against LGRD Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain. BNP’s acting spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon on Friday said, “Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) has accused the LGRD minister, father-in-law of the prime minister’s daughter, of forcibly occupying a house in Faridpur. “The LGRD minister is holding one of the most important ministries. It becomes imperative for the government to investigate when such personal accusations were levelled against this important minister.” The organisation of religious minorities on Thursday accused Hossain and three ruling Awami League MPs of intimidating the people from their community and grabbing their properties and homes. “Miscreants using the name of the ruling party are in a frenzy of grabbing houses, shops, lands, properties of temples, monasteries, churches of religious and ethnic minorities,” it said in a written statement. Hossain, Parliament Whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, Thakurgaon MP Dabirul Islam and Pirojpur lawmaker AKMA Awal were accused of taking forcible possession of properties, according to a news agency.------Aminul
