The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has demanded a judicial inquiry into the attacks on its senior leaders during the hartal Sunday, reports bdnews24.com.
Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque at a press briefing at the city's parliament media centre Tuesday criticised the detention of former Minister Mirza Abbas, former Foreign Secretary Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury and Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, MP. Farroque claimed that pro-government activists attacked Annie near the capital's Shahbagh in presence of the police.
Demanding Annie's release, Farroque said his physical condition was not good. He should immediately be sent abroad for better treatment.
