BNP deplores remarks of ministers

Branding the government as a quarrel-monger, BNP on Saturday deplored that the ministers’ provocative and unguarded remarks which are blocking the path of political understanding. “The ministers of the new regime are making such disparaging and provoking remarks which, we think, are creating obstacles to the path of dialogue and compromise,” said BNP spokesman Asaduzzaman Ripon. He came up with the allegation at a press briefing at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office. Ripon, the party’s international affairs secretary, also criticised the ministers for what he said making indecent remarks about their opponents. He hoped that the senior national leaders will maintain decency in delivering their speeches and making comments about their rivals. “We’re criticising the government and will continue in the future as we have the democratic right to do so,” according to a news agency.
