BNP expels 2 central leaders

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expelled its two central leaders for violating party discipline and not toeing the line.
The embattled party disclosed the development in a press statement issued on Friday.
The expelled leaders are Matiur Rahman Montu, member of the national executive committee and former general secretary of Rajshahi district BNP, and Dhamrai upazila BNP president Dewan Nazim Uddin Manju.
Their primary membership has also been cancelled.
Earlier, BNP, which leads a 12-party alliance, expelled Bangladesh Kalyan Party chairman Maj Gen (retd) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim and Bangladesh Muslim League (BML) chairman Julfiqur Bulbul Chowdhury from the alliance.
The two politicians have announced to join the upcoming general election under the present government.
