BNP grassroots level meet begins

The BNP has begun talks with grassroots leaders in an attempt to revitalise the party. A meeting with leaders of the Panchagarh district at the BNP headquarters at Naya Paltan in the city on Thursday set the ball rolling. “The meeting began around 11am. The programme is intended to organise the party at the grassroots level,” said BNP Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed. Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir chaired the discussions with other senior leaders taking part. Later in the day, the party leadership will meet local party leaders from Nilphamari and Syedpur districts. In the first phase, talks will be held with municipal and Thana-level leaders, which will end on April 20. Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Naogaon, Netrokona, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Mymensingh (north), Chuadanga, Khulna, Narail and Satkhira districts are figuring in the first phase of talks, according to bdnews24.com.
