BNP \\\'has recognised govt by taking part\\\' in UZ polls

HABIGANJ, Mar 7 (BSS): Finance Minister AMA Muhith said today  BNP gave recognition to the present government by taking part in the upazila polls.
He described BNP's decision not to take part in the national elections as an extreme foolish decision and said it (BNP) now understands what wrong they did by taking that decision.
He was inaugurating the industrial park of PRAN-RFL group at Olipur under Habiganj sadar upazila of the district.
Chief Executive of Pran Group major general (retd) Amzad Khan Chowdhury presided over the function while the company chairman Lt Col (retd) Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, former minister Anamul Haque Mostafa Shaheed and lawmakers M Abu Jahir and Mahbub Ali also spoke.
Muhith touched on different issues including supply of gas connection to households, and corruption.
He said the government is not ready to provide household gas connection. Gas will be available at exorbitant price in the coming years, he said.
On corruption, he said, this menace is prevalent in everywhere. The government has been working for checking the menace for the last five years, said the minister.
