\\\'BNP has to cut ties with Jamaat before holding dialogue\\\'

Awami League (AL) Publicity and Publications Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud Sunday said the BNP has to severe relations with the anti-liberation Jamaat-e-Islami if it wants to sit for dialogue with the ruling AL on political issue, reports BSS.
"We want to sit for dialogue with BNP, but the party has to cut relation with Jamaat and stay away from creating anarchy and terrorism before holding the dialogue," he said.
In this connection, he said not only AL but also the European Union and the USA asked BNP to severe relations with Jamaat-e-Islami which is out to create anarchy across the country.
Dr Hasan, the former forests and environment minister said this while taking part at a discussion organised by "Thikana Bangladesh" a social organisation on the contemporary politics at the Jatiya Press Club as the chief guest.
He said those who are killing the innocent people by throwing petrol bombs will be barred to do politics in the country for their violent activities. "Time has come to declare them ineligible in politics for their terrorist acts," he added.
Reminding that the present government has been elected for five years' term, he said the newly elected government would continue its effort to turn Bangladesh into a middle income country much before its stipulated timeframe in 2021.
Dr Hasan said the BNP can create a congenial environment to hold dialogue if it refrains from creating anarchy and makes a commitment to work together for the development of the country.
Presided over by City Joint Secretary of AL Haji Mohammad Selim MP, among others, JSD City unit President Meer Hossain Aktar, Harun Chowdhury of Sammyabadi Dal and President of Bangabandhu Academy Humayun Kabir Miji took part in the discussion.
