BNP has turned out to be a fractured party: Maya

Dhaka City Awami League General Secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya has said that BNP has turned out to be a fractured political party now while its main ally Jamaat-e-Islami is becoming lifeless gradually. ‘The Jamaat leaders, accused of war crimes, will be handed down with maximum punishment for wartime ofences one after another and in the process, it will become more lifeless,’ he said, adding that there are some terrorists in BNP-Jamaat still today and they will have to be eliminated forever. Maya said this while speaking as the chief guest at a joint meeting of Awami Swechchasebak League (ASL) at its Bangabandhu Avenue office in the city. The meeting was convened to make the scheduled public rally at Suhrawardy Udyan to mark the Jail Killing Day on November 3 a success. ASL president Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kowser chaired the meeting, also addressed, among others, by AL joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, organising Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, ASL general secretary Pankaj Debnath, vice-president Nirmal Ranjan Guha and organising secretary Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu, according to a news agency.
