BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy criticised Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim for calling opposition activists anarchists and threatening to cut their limbs, and demanded his removal from the ruling party within 48 hours.
“How come an MP (Selim) can say to chop down the hands and legs of opposition leaders and activists…Sheikh Hasina should expel him from the party within 48 hours if she has any political wisdom,” he said.
Gayeshwar made the remarks while addressing a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club organised by Jatiyatabadi Samyabadi Dal Monday.
Earlier Monday, addressing a function Selim, said, “Those who will carry out subversive activities in the name of movement their hands and legs will be chopped down. Now we’re a better organised. It’s not possible to topple us,” he said.
Disapproving the AL leader’s remarks, Gayeshwar said Selim with his remarks has proved that he has no quality to be a member of parliament, according to a news agency.
