BNP identified as a party of corrupt: Hanif

Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif termed on Wednesday BNP a party of corrupts as it (BNP) always spreads falsehood over the government to cover its own corruption, reports BSS.
"BNP is identified as a party of corrupts to the people. To conceal its (BNP's) failure, it is spreading falsehood over the government," he said.
He came up with the remarks while addressing a seminar on 'the possibility of renewable energy for sustainable development' organised by AL's science and technology affairs sub-committeeat the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the city.
Raising question over the ethics of BNP leaders, he said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been convicted for embezzling orphans' money and her son Tarique Rahman is also a convict.
With AL Sub-Committee on Science and Technology Chairman Prof Dr Md Hossain Mansur in the chair, the seminar was addressed, among others, by Science and Technology Affairs Secretary of Awami League (AL) Engineer Abdus Sabur, Chairman of Standing Committee on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry and AL's Finance and Planning Secretary Waseqa Ayesha Khan and Chairman of the Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) Engineer Md Mahbubur Rahman.
Director of Centre for Energy Research (CER) of United International University (UIU) Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury presented the key note paper on the occasion.
