BNP launches attacks on its leaders finding no support, says Hasan

Thursday, 15 January 2015

Publicity and publication affairs secretary of the ruling Awami League (AL) Dr Hasan Mahmud said Wednesday that BNP has now been launching attacks on its own leaders not getting people's response to its siege and hartal programmes, reports BSS.
"Those persons whom BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia handed over petrol bombs to kill innocent people had attacked her adviser Reaz Rahman," he said while speaking as the chief guest at an anti-hartal rally in front of the National Press Club in the city.
Awami Projanma League organised the rally-cum-human-chain denouncing the countrywide 24-hour hartal (total shutdown) called by the BNP-led 20-party combine today (Thursday) in protest against Tuesday's armed attack on BNP chairperson's adviser Reaz Rahman at Gulshan in the capital.
President of the organisation Advocate Asaduzzaman Durjoy presided over the rally, also addressed, among others, by AL labour affairs secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, religious affairs secretary Sheikh Abdullah and Awami Swechchasebak League president Advocate Mollah Md Abu Kowser.
Hasan Mahmud said, "Those who want to go to power seek people's support.  But, they (BNP-Jamaat) have been killing people by hurling petrol bombs that can never be acceptable. The members of army do not launch attack on its people in any country even during war. But, BNP-Jamaat combine has now been attacking people of Bangladesh, which is unfortunate and utterly frustrating."
