BNP lawyers protest scrapping lease of Khaleda's cantt house

Friday, 10 April 2009

A group of lawyers from pro-BNP Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum (JAF) Thursday protested the government's decision scrapping the lease of the much debated cantonment residence of BNP chairperson and opposition leader Khaleda Zia, reports UNB.
They held a brief meeting in front of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) building during the court hours.
The speakers demanded immediate withdrawal of the government decision. If their demand is ignored, they cautioned that the government will have to face oust-government movement.
JAF key leaders did not turn up at the protest meeting, witnesses said.
Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina's cabinet Wednesday took the decision of forfeiting the allocation of the cantt house given to the Zia family after the assassination of former President Ziaur Rahman way back in 1981.
