BNP leader Annie placed on four-day remand

A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed BNP Publicity Secretary Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie on a 4-day remand in a case filed over obstructing government works and torching vehicles, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam passed the order after hearing a plea seeking a seven-day remand filed by the investigating officer of the case.
Earlier in the morning, the BNP leader was picked up by police from his Dhanmondi residence in Dhaka.
According to the case statement, 10,000 to 15,000 BNP leaders and activists barred police from performing duty by exploding crude bombs, throwing brickbats when they were crossing Dhanmondi City College after a road march on March 23 this year.
