BNP leader Bulu, his wife injured in road crash

BNP’s Joint Secretary General Barkatullah Bulu and his wife were injured in a road accident in Daudkandi Upazila in Comilla district on Friday night. Abul Hasem, the upazila unit BNP General Secretary, said Bulu, along with his wife was going to Comilla by a private car in order to attend Saturday’s public rally of the BNP-led 20-party alliance. Hasem, quoting local people, said a rashly-driven truck hit Bulu’s private car on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway near Gouripur around 10:00pm on Friday, leaving Bulu and his wife injured. Locals rescued the injured BNP leader and whisked them to a local clinic. They took primary treatment in Gouripur and resumed their journey for Comilla city the next morning following overnight stay in Abul Hasem’s Gouripur home. The highway police seized the truck, according to a news agency.
