BNP leader held in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, June 8 (bdnews24.com): Detective branch (DB) of police arrested local BNP leader and Bhangabaria Union Parishad chairman Sanwar Hossain Laddu in Chuadanga town, a police official said Friday.
Laddu, vice-president of Alamdanga Upazila BNP, was arrested in a Thursday night raid, Alamdanga police chief told the news agency.
Amin said there were several cases against Laddu with Alamdanga Police Station on a number of charges, including aiding outlawed Maoist groups.
Laddu was being interrogated whether he has links to extremist groups in the region.
In 2005, the police arrested two leaders of the banned group Janajuddha from Laddu's residence.
