BNP leader Monirul sent to jail

CUMILLA, Oct 24 (UNB): A court here on Wednesday rejected the bail petition of BNP Chairperson's adviser Monirul Haque Chowdhuryand sent him to jail in a case filed over deaths of eight people in an arson attack in 2015.
District and Sessions Judge KM Shamsul Alam passed the order when Monirul Haque, also a member of coordinating committee of Jatiya Oikya Front, surrendered before it after completion of his interim bail granted by the High Court.
On February 3, 2015, eight people were killed and at least 20 others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jagmohanpur in Chauddagram upazila during the BNP-led alliance's movement.
