GAZIPUR, Mar 11 (UNB): District BNP leaders Wednesday demanded the expulsion of BNP standing-committee member Chowdhury Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui from the party for his son's derogatory remarks against Khaleda Zia and her senior party colleagues in his presence.

They placed their demand at a press briefing at their party office here in the morning. District BNP President and former MP Hasanuddin Sarkar red out a written statement at the press briefing, attended by local leaders Halimuzzaman Noni, Sahabuddin, Afzal Hossain Kawser, Mazharul Alam and Emdad Khan, among others. They also declared Tanvir and his son Irad 'persona non grata' in the district.
