BNP leaders hold meeting, discuss strategies

BNP standing committee members sat in a meeting on Friday with party senior and mid-level leaders to discuss the country's latest political situation and work out its next course of action, reports UNB.
The meeting began around 4:20pm at the BNP chairperson's Gulshan office.
Apart from the party standing committee members, its vice chairmen, chairperson's advisers, joint secretaries general, organising secretaries and secretaries on different affairs joined the meeting, said BNP chairperson's media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
He said the meeting will elaborately discuss the current political situation, the party's organisational issues and the possible ways to have its chairperson Khaleda Zia released from jail.
The meeting will work out strategies for ensuring the victory of BNP's mayoral candidates in Gazipur and Khulna city polls billed for May 15, Sayrul said.
He also said the BNP leaders will work out their next course of action and political programmes for the month of Ramadan.
