BNP leaders mourn Piash Karim\\\'s death

The top leaders of the BNP have condoled the death of eminent academician and BRAC University Professor Dr Piash Karim who passed away at Square Hospital in the city on Monday morning. In a condolence message, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia expressed deep shock at the demise of Dr Piash Karim. She also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. In a similar message BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir mourned Dr Piash Karim’s death. He said that the country has lost a luminous teacher who was always active against the wickedness and injustice. Party’s Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed visited Square Hospital early Monday to see the body of Piash Karim and said Dr Piash was vocal in favour of freedom of speech and democracy, according to a news agency.
