BNP long march caravan reaches Rangpur

Starting its journey from Uttara in the city towards Teesta Barrage in Nilphamari, BNP’s Long march caravan reached Rangpur city on Tuesday evening. The long-march convoy, led by BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, entered the Rangpur city around 7:20pm. Earlier, the party started its two-day long march towards Teesta Barrage from Azampur in the city’s Uttara area in the morning,  demanding due share of water from common rivers. Though the long march was scheduled to begin from Airport intersection, it finally began from in front of Amir Complex, Uttara around 9. Before launching the long march, senior BNP leaders, including Fakhrul, addressed a rally there, according to a news agency.
