BNP men urged to join relief work

Saifur-led BNP Acting Secretary General Major (retd) Hafizuddin Ahmed has urged the party leaders and activists to stand beside the cyclone-hit people and join the party's relief work.
"The BNP relief committee, formed to face the calamity, has begun its activities. I myself will join the relief distribution programmes in the affected areas within 2/3 days," he said while talking to Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists at his Bonani residence Tuesday, reports UNB.
A group of JCD activists, led by former president of Pollobi Thana unit Rahmatullah Rahmat, felicitated the acting secretary general with bouquet, according to a press release signed by Mofiqul Hasan Tripti.
The JCD leaders and activists expressed their confidence in all decisions of the BNP standing committee in absence of detained party chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Welcoming the JCD leaders and activists, Hafizuddin also asked them to work unitedly to further strengthen the party.
Among others, former BNP lawmakers Nazir Hossain, Anwarul Hossain Khan Chowdhury and Zahiruddin Swapan were present during the meeting.
