BNP moving forward step by step to implement July Charter: Dr Zahid

DINAJPUR, April 4 (BSS): Minister for Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain has said the party is moving forward systematically to implement the July National Charter.
"BNP sees the July National Charter, signed at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad, as a national document and respects it. For this reason, BNP is moving forward systematically to implement the charter," he said.
The minister made these remarks while addressing a cheque distribution ceremony for capitation grants to orphanages and shelters, organised by the Dinajpur district administration and the district social services office on Saturday.
Dr Zahid said, "BNP will implement the July National Charter. At the same time, it will implement each commitment made in the party's election manifesto. The party wants to proceed by following rules and principles".
In this connection, he said a government cannot be run by emotion, it is run by certain rules, policies and institutional frameworks.
He said the BNP remembers the Liberation War of 1971 with due honour and at the same time it respect the sacrifices of 1990 and 2024 as well.
"Over the past 17 years of movements against authoritarianism, the people of the country have made significant sacrifices for democracy, which BNP values."
The minister further said BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working to fulfill the promises made before the election, and the party is advancing toward implementing those commitments.
"BNP is not a party that breaks its promises; rather, it continues to work for the welfare of the people and the development of the country and will do so in future."
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Md. Rafiqul Islam, the event was also addressed by Whip Md. Akhtaruzzaman Mia, MP Md. Sadiq Riaz Chowdhury Pinak, District Council Administrator Adv Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, President of Dinajpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries Md. Abu Bakkar Siddiq, among others.
