BNP now a self-confessed corrupt party: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Sunday BNP has become a self-confessed corrupt party through changing its constitution, reports BSS.
"As per a clause of BNP's constitution, no corrupt person or terrorist cannot be a member of the party...But BNP has changed the clause to make Tarique Rahman the acting chairman of the party," he said, speaking at a joint meeting of Awami League in the city.
Awami League North and South city and district units and associate bodies of the party organised the meeting to make the AL public rally on March 7 at historic Suhrawardy Udyan a success.
Quader said BNP had created unstable situation whenever they got opportunities though they declared peaceful movements. Even they created an unstable situation while giving a memorandum to the deputy commissioner in the city, he added.
The AL general secretary said, "We don't want to see one-sided election and we want the polls to be held in a free, fair and credible manner with the participation of all political parties, including BNP."
AL Joint Secretaries Dr Dipu Moni and Jahangir Kabir Nanank, Organising Secretaries Ahmed Hossain, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Cultural Affairs Secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Forest and Environment Secretary Delwar Hossain and Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, among others, were present in the meeting.
