BNP plans to hold rally in Demra, not N\\\'ganj

BNP has planned to hold its rally in Demra area in the outskirts of Dhaka city instead of Narayanganj city on May 17 in protest against the growing incidents of killing, abduction, forced disappearance, and the killing of seven people after their abduction in Narayanganj. Party chief Khaleda Zia will address the rally. The party will also stage demonstrations in all districts and upazilas across the country on May 18 while in all divisional cities on May 19. The decisions were taken at a BNP standing committee meeting on Saturday night. The nearly one-and-a-half hour meeting of the highest policymaking body of the main opposition began around 9:10pm. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia presided over the meeting, held at her Gulshan office, according to a news agency.
