BNP programme on Independence Day
Friday, 20 March 2009
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has chalked out a three-day programme to observe the Independence and National Day, reports BSS.
The programme includes discussion at Engineers' Institution in the city at 3:00 pm on March 25, hoisting national and party flags early in the morning at the Nayapaltan central party office and offering wreaths at the National Memorial at Savar at 7:00 am and at the mazar of former President Ziaur Rahman at 9:00 am on March 26, and discussion by Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal on March 27.
The programme was finalised at a joint meeting of BNP and its front organisations with party Secretary General Khondoker Delwar Hossain in the chair at Nayapaltan BNP central office.
The meeting decided that the colourful Independence Day rally would not be brought out this year in view of the tragic incident at the BDR Headquarters.
