Saturday, 30 August 2014
BNP has chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate its 36th founding anniversary that falls Monday, reports UNB.
The party has centrally taken a two-day programme to mark the founding anniversary, said a party press release Friday.
As per the programmes, the party will display photographs and documentaries on various activities and achievements of the party since its formation, on the second floor of the Jatiya Press Club Sunday from 10.00 am.
On Monday, the party flags will be hoisted atop its Naypaltan central office and all other offices of BNP across the country at 6 am.
Besides, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia along with party leaders and activists will place wreaths and offer Fateha at the Mazar of its founder ex-President Ziaur Rahman at 10.00 am on the day.
The party will also arrange a discussion at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh on Monday afternoon on the occasion.
Besides, the party's associate bodies and all of its units across the country will mark the day with various programmes, including hoisting party flag, discussion meetings and rallies.
On September 1, 1978, late President Ziaur Rahman formed the BNP in 1978 with a 19-point programme to build a self-reliant Bangladesh.
BNP ruled Bangladesh for several terms. Party chairperson Khaleda Zia became the country's first female Prime Minister (PM) after winning the 1991 general election.
