Stating that those had tried to cling to powder in the past against people’s will were thrown into the dustbin, BNP senior leader MK Anwar on Saturday demanded that the government hold an inclusive national election without delay. ‘Though they (ruling party) had said the January-5 election was mere a constitutional obligation, now they’ve started saying they’ll be there in office for a full 5-year term, but the government won’t be able to do so against people’s will,’ the BNP standing committee member said while addressing a discussion organised by former Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal Foundation Central Committee in the city. Terming ‘very high time’ for the government, Anwar, also a former minister, said the government will not be able to complete 5-year in the office as people want it to go right now. Referring to Bangladesh’s political history, the senior politician said those had tried to cling to power against the will of people were dumped into the dustbin, according to a news agency.
