BNP pushes for fresh elections

Sunday, 2 February 2014

BNP standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah Saturday said they want the 11th parliament polls to be held as soon as possible as per the will of the country's people, reports UNB.
"Many ministers are saying that we're demanding mid-term polls. It's not right. We want free, fair, credible and inclusive 11th parliament polls as soon as possible," he said.
The BNP leader came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after placing wreaths at the greave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, marking the 7th founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Trinamool Dal.
Hannan Shah alleged that the ruling Awami League (AL) has hijacked people's voting rights through the January 5 'voter-less' lopsided elections. "The current regime is illegal. The country's people and the whole world have seen how they snatched people's voting rights."
