BNP rally in city protesting killing

FE REPORT | Friday, 21 July 2023

BNP vice-chairman Barkatullah Bulu on Thursday warned that no general election would be held under the incumbent government.
"All political parties are united now. We're in a movement to restore democracy by ousting the government and holding a free, fair and participatory election under a poll-time caretaker government."
Mr Bulu made the remarks at a rally outside the party's central office in the capital's Nayapaltan area.
He said the government could not stop their ongoing movement by filing false cases, killing and abduction of opposition leaders and activists.
The BNP leader said they would realise their one-point demand for immediate resignation of the government and holding elections under a neutral caretaker government.
The rally was organised to mourn and protest the killing of party activist Sajib Hossain who was killed during a political march in Laxmipur district.
