BNP rebel candidate attacked

Tendons of both the legs of a rebel BNP candidate, who is contesting for the vice-chairman post in the elections to Morelganj Upazila Parishad in Bagerhat district, were cut allegedly by a rival group on Friday noon, reports bdnews24.com.
The victim was identified as Abdul Mannan Khan alias Mona Kha, 50, the Joint General Secretary of Morelganj Upazila unit of the BNP, and a former chairman of Ramchandrapur Union Council.
OC of the Morelganj thana Abdur Rakib Khan told the news agency that Khan was attacked at Pulerhat under the Ramchandrapur union of the upazila.
