BNP reiterates demand for Khaleda, other party leaders' release

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) reiterated on Monday its demand to the government for immediate release of detained party leaders including party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
Standing committee member of BNP Nazrul Islam Khan voiced the demand at a human chain programme organised by Dhaka district unit BNP in front of the National Press Club in the capital.
He said that the government was pushing party chairperson Khaleda Zia to death by not allowing her to go abroad for treatment.
Mr Nazrul Islam also said that the head of the government doesn't like Zia family.
He criticized the market syndicates behind the soaring prices of essential commodities.
Mr Nazrul Islam further said that banks were being emptied by giving loans to the influential persons.
He also said that the value of taka was decreasing almost every day.
He said that BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman has intensified movement to restore democracy in the country.
Senior joint secretary general of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the government has destroyed the country's economy.
He warned that there would be trial of every misdeed committed by the government.
