BNP secy gen Delwar dead

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secretary general and a veteran politician Khandaker Delwar Hossain breathed his last at Singapore Mount Elizabeth Hospital Wednesday. He was 78, report agencies. His body will be sent to Bangladesh today (Thursday) after completion of formalities. Delwar was flown to Singapore for treatment by an air ambulance on March 4. Earlier, he was admitted to Square Hospital in a critical condition. He was kept in Intensive Care Unite (ICU) on respiratory support. The septuagenarian leader came in the limelight during the past military-backed caretaker regime when BNP chief Khaleda Zia and a good number of senior leaders were in jail.
