BNP seeks exemplary punishment for Noakhali woman repressors

Wednesday, 7 October 2020

Strongly denouncing the inhuman repression on a woman in Begumganjupazial of Noakhali district, BNP on Monday alleged that a grand festival of violence against women is "carried out by ruling party men" due to impunity culture, reports UNB.
In a statement, party Secretary General MirzaFakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of those involved in the heinous incident.
"The air and sky have become heavier with the screams of the repressed women and children during the rule of the current 'midnight government'. As there's no law and order in the country, a festival of torture on women and children by the ruling party men is going on alongside enforced-disappearances, murders, abductions and extrajudicial killings," he observed.
The BNP leader said violence against women and children has now become an order of the day. "The oppressors of women and children are a stigma in the name of human beings. They're worse than wild animals."
He alleged that the inhumane incidents are increasing at an alarming rate due to the misrule and 'growing misdeeds' of the current government. "As the perpetrators of atrocities like violence against women and children are not getting proper punishment, such incidents are recurring and the offenders are being encouraged to repeat such incidents."
Stating that a terrible form of ruthless misrule has engulfed the entire country, Fakhrul said the offenders are taking the law into their own hands.
