BNP should not be allowed to hold prog in Aug: Nasim

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said Saturday that the BNP should not be allowed to hold any kind of political rally during August, the month of mourning, reports BSS.
"The BNP and its leaders start hatching conspiracy when the month of mourning comes back," he said while speaking as the chief guest at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum on Road 32 at Dhanmondi.
Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela organised the discussion and the art competition marking the 39th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.
Chaired by president of the organisation Shirin Akter Monju, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by Minister of Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, organising secretary of Dhaka City AL Shahe Alam Murad, president of Awami Swechchasebok League Advocate Molla Mohammad Abu Kawser and general secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarkar Rana.
Terming BNP as a party of "fascists" Mohammad Nasim said the BNP has sick mentality and perverted mind and the party should not be allowed to hold any programme in August.
"Ziaur Rahman killed Bangabandhu through a deep conspiracy in this August and the BNP patronised and sheltered the killers," he said.
The minister said the BNP blasted bombs across the country on August 17 and attacked Sheikh Hasina with grenades to kill her and killed Ivy Rahman on August 21.
"When August begins, the BNP starts hatching conspiracies, so the party should not be allowed to hold any kind of programme at present and in future," he said.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said, "The BNP is hatching conspiracy so that Sheikh Hasina fails to materialise Bangabandhu's dream of 'Sonar Bangla'.
Another report adds from Barguna: Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan said Saturday  BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is involved in hatching conspiracy against the country's independence.
"She (Khaleda) is hatching conspiracy by knocking the USA's door in the name of saving the country," he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion here.
Amtoli Upazila Awami League arranged the discussion on the occasion of the National Mourning Day August 15, with its president GM Delwar Hossain in the chair. Advocate Dheerandra Nath Shamvu, MP, Amtoli Poura Mayor M Motiar Rahman and Union Parishad Chairman Motahar Uddin Mridha spoke in the discussion.
