BNP starts upazila level demo

Saturday, 2 October 2010

Main opposition BNP has started arranging month-long rallies as part of its ongoing anti-government activities at the upazila-level across the country, reports bdnews24.com.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, joint secretary general of the party, briefed reporters on the programme schedule, at a press meet at the party's Naya Paltan headquarters Friday.
The programmes will be held to inform grass-root level activists of the government's undemocratic activities, Rizvi added.
The programmes are aimed at protesting the government's act of repression, harassment, false cases, attacks, killings, abductions, price-hike of essentials, recruitment trades, anti-national agreements, and appointments of partisan people at different levels of administration, the BNP leader said.
A total of 75 organisational district committees of BNP will co-ordinate the programmes in their respective upazilas. The district committees have also already been given instructions about the programmes, Rizvi added.
