BNP talking nonsense about anti-drug drive: Quader

Monday, 4 June 2018

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Sunday the drives against illegal drugs will continue, reports BSS.
"The drives against illegal drugs are going on to save the young generation from harmful impacts of drugs as they (youths) are the future generation of the country…The government would not bow down to any external pressure over the ongoing anti-narcotics drive," he said.
The minister came up with the remark while replying to a query from reporters after the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony of the seventh package of Metrorail Project at Bangabandhu International Convention Center.
Quader said the popularity of the Awami League government is increasing through the drive. As a result, BNP is feeling jealous and they are talking nonsense about the drive, he added.
Over the murder of Teknaf ward councillor Ekramul Haque, the AL leader said the home minister cleared the government stance to this end. If Ekramul is innocent, those who labelled him as drug peddler will be brought to justice, he added.
