BNP to observe first anniversary of Begum Zia, Tarique's release from prison

BNP and its front organisations will observe the first anniversary of the release of party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her eldest son Tarique Rahman from prison next month, reports BSS.
The party has taken various programmes in this connection including holding rallies, discussion meetings and offering prayers at the mazar of Shaheed president Ziaur Rahman in the city.
The programme committee took the decisions Saturday at a joint meeting of its various front organisations at the party's Naya Paltan office.
Convener of the anniversary celebration committee, party Joint Secretary General Goyeswar Chandra Roy was in the chair.
Begam Zia was released from prison on September 11 while her son and party's first joint secretary general Tarique Rahman was set free on September 3.
The programmes include gathering at Zia's mazar at 10 am on September 3 and offering prayers, holding rally at 12 noon and discussion meeting in the afternoon at Mohanagar Natya Manch at 3 pm.
Holding rallies in the city and in all divisional and district headquarters on September 10 and on the following day Friday, on September 11 at 10 am again offering prayers at Shaheed Zia's mazar and after Jum'a prayers, special prayers will be offered at all mosques throughout the country.
