The BNP will start an investigation into the Narayanganj multiple murders, party’s acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said. “A retired justice will head a three-member investigation committee,” he said on Sunday after paying respects at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman. Seven men, including a Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) panel Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Kumar Sarker, were abducted on April 27. Their bodies were found floating in Sitalakkha and Dhaleswari rivers three days later. Forensic experts said the men were killed shortly after their abduction. Relatives of the victims have accused Rab of the killings after they were allegedly bribed for the murders. NCC Ward 4 councillor Nur Hossain and another local Awami League leader are the two main accused in cases filed over the killings, according to bdnews24.com.
