Thursday, 30 July 2015

Claiming that its standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury did not get justice, BNP said on Wednesday the party was disappointed surprised and shocked as the Supreme Court (SC) upheld his death penalty, reports UNB.
"We're upset, surprised and saddened as the Appellate Division of the SC upheld the death penalty of BNP standing committee member Salauddin Quader Chowdhury, awarded by the International Crimes Tribunal," said BNP spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon.
He came up with the party's official reaction to the SC verdict at a press conference at BNP's Nayapaltan central office in the city. Ripon, however, said the party will not launch any programme against the verdict as it is still under trial.
He also said the party expects that Salauddin Quader Chowdhury will get justice in the review of the verdict.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court upheld the death penalty of condemned war crime convict Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.
