Claiming that the government has a covert entente with their ally Jamaat-e-Islami, BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy on Monday urged the Prime Minister to cut ties with the Islamist party. “Jamaat is hidden there in the government. So, who is Sheikh Hasina to suggest BNP leaving Jamaat? First of all, she (PM) must cut link with Jamaat,” he said. The BNP leader came up with the counter call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at a discussion at the Jatiya Press Club arranged by Desh Netri Forum, a pro-BNP-body. In a scathing attack on the Prime Minister, Gayeshwar said many of the relatives of Sheikh Hasina are Rajakars. “It’s BNP’s internal matter that with whom it will make an electoral alliance and with whom not,” according to a news agency.
