BNP wants snap polls to join JS

BNP Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque has said they will return to parliament if their demand for mid-term election is met, reports bdnews24.com.
"We will join the parliament's ninth session if our demand for mid-term polls is met. They (government) should test their popularity," Zainul Abdin Farroque told a rally in front of the party's Naya Paltan office Friday.
The BNP leader Thursday said they were not going back to parliament at the start of the session. "The decision will come up after the party chairperson returns home on May 29."
The next session of the ninth parliament begins Sunday (May 22).
Over the charter review issue, Farroque said BNP would not accept if the constitution was amended without their consent.
"The government will be forced to quit if they repeal 'Bismillah' from and reinstate secularism in the constitution," he told the rally organised before taking out a procession.
The main opposition party organised the programmes demanding withdrawal of 'false cases' against party's Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman, and protesting against price hike of fuel oil and essential commodities.
Farroque said the government was not making clear the reason for summoning the session. "Is it a budget session or a session to amend the constitution?" he questioned.
