Opposition BNP warned that if the government does not allow the party to hold its programmes at Paltan Maidan, Muktangon or other places the party would organise it in front of Bangabhaban, reports UNB.
BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir aired a note of warning while addressing a press briefing at the party's central office Wednesday.
He said if the government does not allow them to hold their rally at Paltan Maidan, they would hold it at Muktangon. "If the government does not allow the Muktangon programme, they would hold it in front of party's central office, if not then at Manik Mia Avenue".
Finally, he said, if they are not allowed even at Manik Mia Avenue, they will organise it in front of the Bangabhaban.
As part of the countrywide demonstration on May 9 demanding midterm election, the party sought permission to hold rally at Paltan Maidan in the capital, but did not get permission, it was informed at the briefing.
The BNP acting secretary general asked the government to withdraw restriction on holding programmes at Muktangon.
At the press briefing, a 12-day programme was announced to be held from May 29 to observe the death anniversary of President Ziaur Rahman, founder of Bangladesh Nationalist Party.
