BNP won't join polls sensing defeat: Taposh
FE REPORT | Thursday, 21 September 2023
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Wednesday said BNP does not like to participate in the elections, sensing their defeat.
"BNP's absence from the polls will mean their realisation of getting no seats in the upcoming general election," he added.
Mr Taposh said this as the chief guest at a development festival at Ward no. 02 under South Banasree in Dhaka.
He said the present leadership of BNP is without party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
"They (BNP) participated in the 2018 elections, but they didn't say anything about caretaker government and even couldn't say about release of Begum Zia that time," he said.
"Now they (BNP leaderships) are again talking about caretaker government. But they are not talking about Begum Zia's release. They have forgotten Begum Zia… They no more require her."
