BNP\\\'s 8-hr mass hunger strike on: Khaleda to join it at NPC

Sunday, 4 May 2014

BNP's nationwide 8-hour mass hunger strike programme began on Sunday morning to register its protest against the government’s repressive acts and ‘growing incidents’ of extrajudicial killing and abduction. In the capital, the programme began around 9:15 am on the National Press Club (NPC) premises. The programme will continue until 5 pm. Senior BNP leaders, including its acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, have already joined the programme. BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will join the programme at NPC in the city around 4 pm, party high-ups said, according to a news agency.
