BNP\\\'s hartal in Gazipur, countrywide demo today

The BNP has called a dawn to dusk hartal in Gazipur and demonstration across the country for today (Saturday) in protest against the section 144 imposed on the venue where the party was set to hold a rally today, report agencies.
BNP organizing secretary and Gazipur BNP president Fazlul Huq Milon announced the programme following a meeting of the BNP senior leaders at the party chairperson's Gulshan office on Friday night.
The meeting was held to discuss the evolving political situation.
BSS add: The local administration has imposed Section 144 on the venue of a BNP rally scheduled for Saturday in Gazipur and banned all kinds of meeting, rally and procession in the district until further order.
The district administration has imposed the Section 144 in the district as BNP and Awami League's student organisation Bangladesh Chhatra League called meeting at the same venue, Bhawal Badre Alam College ground.
Local administration has banned all kinds of meeting, rally and procession in the district from 2.00pm for indefinite period.
A meeting of the law and order committee was held at the Gazipur circuit house in the morning and it decided not to allow any political party to hold any meeting, rally and procession anywhere in Gazipur district until further order.
