Sunday, 23 May 2010

Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal (ML) general secretary and Industries Minister Dilip Barua has termed the BNP's call for hartal as the "manifestation of its political bankruptcy."
"BNP called the hartal to undermine the development and success of the present government in fertiliser distribution, food production, education and economical progress," he said.
He was addressing at a workers' meeting at the party's Topkhana office in the city Saturday, reports UNB.
Samyabadi Dal city unit organised the meeting to demand trial of the war criminals and protest the BNP's call for hartal on June 27.
Dilip Barua alleged that a conspiracy was going on to hinder Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's programme for building a self-reliant and industrialised Bangladesh and bringing smile on the faces of poor people.
"Blocking the foreign direct investment by tarnishing the image of the country is the main target of this conspiracy," he said.
The Samybadi Dal leader urged all progressive and pro-liberation forces to unite under the leadership of the PM to resist the evil forces plotting against the country.
He said any move to destabilise the country through conspiracy would not succeed.
Samyabadi Dal of the city unit Secretary Harun Chowdhury presided over the meeting while the party leaders Abu Hamed Shahabuddin, Dhiren Singh, Haniful Kabir and M Delwar Hossain were present.
The meeting decided to hold a rally on June 6 at Muktangan to press for expeditious trial of the war criminals.
Later, a protest procession led by Industries Minister Dilip Barua paraded the streets passing through Press Club and Muktangaon.
