BNP leader Fazlul Haque Milon on Friday gave a leaflet containing their one-point demand for the resignation of the government and holding the next election under a neutral government to Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque, while distributing it among people in front of a city mosque, reports UNB.
As part of their countrywide programme, BNP leaders distributed the leaflet among Muslim devotees in front of different mosques in the capital after Juma' prayers.
Milon, president of BNP's Gazipur district unit, along with party leaders and workers were distributing the leaflet in front of the Circuit House Mosque.
As the agriculture minister came out of the mosque after offering Juma prayers, Milon gave a leaflet to him and the minister accepted it with a smile.
Talking to UNB, Milon said he distributed the leaflet among around 250 people in front of the mosque.
"When the agriculture minister was leaving this mosque after the prayers, I gave him a leaflet. I also found Dr Kamal Hossain there among the devotees and handed him over a leaflet too," he said.
In the one-page leaflet, people have been urged to take to the streets to make the one-point movement of BNP and like-minded parties a success.
"The illegal government must be forced to resign and the non-partisan polls-time neutral government system must be brought back in order to save the country and its people from all-pervasive corruption and from the dangerous jungle rule," it reads.
The leaflet headlined "People of the whole country are now united in the one-point demand, including the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and the establishment of a polls-time non-partisan neutral government' also urged people to build a united resistance against the government's dirty tricks with the upcoming parliamentary election."
